Dear Student, When I was an undergraduate here, each new writing assignment created new challenges, and there were times when I felt I had no clue what my professor wanted. A tutor would have been helpful for brainstorming and understanding the assignment, improving my thesis statement, or reading through my final draft to check for clarity and flow. I would have loved to have had peer tutors available in the dorms, the halls, or even the Union while I was working on a paper. Now, years later, the QWC and E.L.C. offer walk-in tutoring in these locations during most days and evenings. This directory includes info on our tutors, their locations, and their times. The average session lasts for 20-30 minutes, and quick questions are always welcome. In order to make the most of your time, I suggest you bring your assignment sheet and come with questions. Our tutors are eager to work with you, and we hope that you will take advantage of the free service I never had. -- Jacqueline Jones QWC Coordinator of Peer Tutoring |
